Amalgamate is owned and managed by Dr Roslyn Franklin
Roslyn’s early clinical practice included working for two years in Kalgoorlie: 12 months in a Government dental clinic, and 12 months in private practice. In 1997 she relocated to Bunbury and spent the next eight years in various clinics ranging from small private practices to the government Bunbury Dental Clinic.
Roslyn then stepped back from the dental profession and worked part-time as a trainer and assessor for dental assistants, and then as a compliance coordinator in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
On re-entering the dental industry in 2015, Roslyn wanted to make a difference, without necessarily going back ‘on-the-tools’. Combining her experience in dentistry, training and compliance (not to mention her love of regulations, order and paperwork), Amalgamate was created.
Amalgamate - Dental expertise, practice insight, regulatory understanding, industry rapport – the complete service offering.Enhancing Dental Practices
Roslyn has practiced as a dentist in both government and private practice, and has continuously maintained her DBA and ADA registrations to keep her skills current. She has trained and assessed dental assistants, developed learning materials and coordinated compliance in the VET sector. Her wealth of experience can help you streamline your practice accreditation, ensure new developments within your practice are sustainable and documented and help you achieve your business goals.
Roslyn keeps her knowledge current with the latest developments in the business of dentistry, including current legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines. Her continuous professional development includes:
- Attending ADA conferences and webinars
- Reading dental journals
- Subscribing to email alerts from various government bodies and associations, including:
- Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare www.safetyandquality.gov.au
- WorkSafe WA
- Safe Work Australia
- Standards Australia
- Monitoring the DBA and ADA websites for updates.
- chairing the South West Dental Convocation
- continuous study, currently focused on infection prevention and control at the postgraduate level.
Near enough is not good enough, particularly in infection control and compliance issues. And perfectionism is an asset when creating effective workplace policies, procedures and manuals. Roslyn pays attention to detail, supports and trains staff through implementation and takes pride in producing professional documentation that reflects your commitment to staff and outstanding client care.
Client confidentiality is of the highest importance. From working with clients as a dental practitioner, to working with businesses in the private sector, Roslyn is mindful of and respects issues of confidentiality.
Although Amalgamate is based in Bunbury, Western Australia, Roslyn works with clients across Australia. Business can be conducted effectively via phone, email and skype, and face-to-face consultations can also be arranged. In general, a single personal consultation (a necessary requirement for infection or work, health & safety auditing) can provide a strong foundation for a long-distance professional relationship. Roslyn can also liaise with other local professionals to undertake audits.
Roslyn can map your processes and customise documentation to meet your practice requirements. She can work with your entire team, or consult with an individual contact and work in the background. Either way, consultation and communication on progress of the work is regular, and documentation and process improvements can be introduced with minimum disruption but maximum effect.
